Jane Hatterer has worked with entrepreneurs and in emerging technology driven businesses throughout her career in media, academia, and the public sector. Jane’s work has included content based startups, an online education incubator, and Columbia University’s Digital Knowledge Ventures, where she served as Director of Strategic Development and head of E-Learning. After Columbia, she started a consulting practice advising universities, the NYC Public Schools, publishers and subject matter experts on digital resource, online course, program and e-book development, as well as related institutional and state policies.

Jane has long believed in the potential of technology to improve learning outcomes and support educators and students. Over the past two years, she expanded her work to include AI literacy advocacy and the development of an AI in education resource repository. She recently founded EdufAi to provide research, resources and policy guidance in this area.

As a long standing working member of city, state and national civic coalitions, Jane advocates for Media and AI Literacy as foundational to civic education and youth civic engagement and regularly contributes to research reports, public education events, and policy recommendation papers. She is always looking for ways to improve learning and amplify student voice and agency by fostering environments and programs that support youth leadership and innovation in the age of AI
